About Us
We founded Midbar on October 8th 2023. Since then, we’ve fed over 10,000 IDF soldiers on 54 bases with thanks to our generous donors across the world.
We are a group of friends who watched our brothers, friends, colleagues and cousins put on their uniforms to defend the frontlines so we decided to help them. We have one mission: to support our heroes risking their lives protecting our homeland. They face challenges that most of us can only imagine and when their mission is over, they deserve more than just a thank you.
That’s where Midbar comes in. We organise BBQs for these heroes – a moment to relax, bond, and escape from their harsh reality. It’s our way of showing appreciation, and giving them the support they truly deserve.

1. What does Midbar do?
Midbar organises BBQ events for our soldiers and miluimnicks in Israel. We provide them with a delicious home-style BBQ meal, a few hours of fun (Midbar style!), and a sense of appreciation from Jewish people around the world. These events provide more than just food – they boost morale and offer support to our soldiers who dedicate their lives protecting Israel.
2. How does my donation help?
Your donation directly supports the logistics and costs associated with organising these BBQ events. This includes purchasing high quality meats, salads, desserts, drinks, BBQ supplies and disposable paperware. Our BBQs are Kosher.
3. How are the BBQs organised?
We partner with military bases and units to coordinate the BBQs, working closely with commanders and on-the-ground staff to plan events for soldiers beginning and completing intense missions. The events are typically held at various military bases across Israel, where we bring in the food, grill equipment, and volunteers to serve the soldiers.
4. How do I donate to Midbar Israel?
You can donate here. 100% of your donations go to our soldiers. Please get in touch with us if you’d like to sponsor an entire event.
5. Where do the donations go?
